Apply for emPower 2015

empower14CED announces a call for applications for one (1) EMPOWER student for 2015, which is held every year in the period of 8 months in Trogen, Switzerland. All students motivated to increase their capacities in Intercultural Education, living together in Children’s Village Pestalozzi Trogen Switzerland, and seriously engaged in activities aimed at promoting peace and protection of Children’s rights now can apply to a eight month course called EMPOWER which is implemented in Switzerland.

EMPOWER is eight-month course for young people from age 22 to 28 years who come from countries where Pestalozzi Foundation supports projects in the field of education, being implemented by partner organizations. Training program is a combination of study and coexistence of 14 to 17 students from around the world in the EMPOWER house located in the Children’s Village.

The main goal of this course is to provide students to reinforce their knowledge, confidence and cross-cultural chronologies of working methods, so that students who complete this training can make directly implementing projects for children’s rights in cooperation with Pestalozzi Foundation and the organization CED.

Some of the other main objectives of the program are:

  • Knowledge and awareness -  where students critically reflect on their behavior and habits in compliance with the principles and values of Human Rights and Interculturalism
  • Analysis and adaptation to different contexts -  Students identify targets for change course in accordance with the values of Human Rights and Interculturalism
  • Action and implementation – students realize and identify changes in accordance with the values of human rights and interculturalism. Within the course students learn the levels between knowledge, understanding and realization.
  • Generally course consists of the following key elements: Theory, process of confidence, confrontation with new knowledge, new insights and resolution, new development attitudes, fundamentals of actions committed.
