On 21st of March 2022, for more than 10 years in row, CED in cooperation with PS "Kiril Pejcinoviq"-Tearce, PS."Faik Konica"-Dobroshte and PS "Ismail Qemali"-Nerashte, organized the "Day of Ecology", with many activities. We had more than 50 children coming from different villages (Dobroshte, Nerashte, Tearce, Pershefce). When they arrived at the school we welcomed them, we let them to present themselves and we divided every child into 5 different groups.
After some games, and icebreaker, we gave them the material necessary for the collection of garbage. Each group provided with a leader, had a precise route in the village. They have gloves for everyone, three bags and two stick wood by team. When they come back, first they divided the garbage in three different boxes, in order to separate the metal, plastic and papers. After they were able to work on a creative art with garbage in order to send a strong message for the protection of the environment! Beautiful works. In parallel, the mayor of Tearce Mr. Nuhi Neziri planted a lot of trees in the Tearce school and in the municipality to show his support for this project and how we are all concerned about ecological system.
The objectives of this day were first and foremost to raise awareness among children and residents about their environment. Through this tour in the village and in strategic places such as institutions, we send a strong message to the inhabitants and, of course, of our institutions. One team was cleaning in the stadium, with Ardonit, project coordinator at CED. One team cleaned the hospital, with Muhamet, another member of CED. Another team cleaned the municipality, the mosque and the church with Sumeja, a volunteer.
Another team was going up on the village and cleaned the road to the mosque, with Teodora and Eda, two good students, and the last cleaned around the school with the sport teacher of Nerashte. This day showed us how children were interested in getting involved in the protection of their treasure, the environment.
The presence of the Mayor of Tearce made it possible to support the important place that the village wishes to take in relation to ecology. The French Embassy also came in the event to highlight the importance of the event and the impact it can have. This first contact with French Embassy by our volunteers will then make it possible to create other events together. The media present also made it possible to spread the message!
