On 26.09.2015 in Tetovo in front of the Cultural house was promoted the platform of associations in the Tetovo’s region “Friends of Sharri” which is open type and can join all natural and legal persons who would like Sharr Mountain to be declared as a protected area.“Friends of Sharr” is an informal group of civic organizations of Tetovo, who want te see Sharr mountain in the future as a national park.
The founding organizations of this platform are: “Community Development Institute: from Tetovo, Hiking club “Ljuboten” from Tetovo and “Center for Education and Development” from Tearce.Our vision is that the nature of Sharr to be protected and variegated in harmony with people.Shara declaration of protected areas, sustainable exploitation of natural resources, protection of traditional values.
The goals of the platform are:
-Promotions of the Initiative for the announcement of Shara as a National Park
Informing citizens who gravitate towards Sharr Mountain on the potential benefits if it’s announced Sharr as National Park.

Activities: Organizing such public educational events, debates, meetings with local residents, mountain tours for the promotion of natural values of Shara.
At the promotional event organizers had short presentation as well as the bands performing "High Control" and "mushrooms from Tetovo".
How do I join?
Every day in the offices of "Community Development Institute", which is located on the road Pish Lubo Bozinovski, 82, from 10:00 to 15:00 pm Tetovo, looking for membership and become a member of "Friends of Sharr"

Activities of the platform "Friends of Sharri" are supported by the "protection type of biological varieties through the sustainable management of resources in the Shar" which implements Macedonian Ecological Association with financial support from the Foundation Euronatur from Germany as well as federal agency of Environment of Germany (DBU).
