The Center for Education and Development continues its cooperation in the framework of child exchanges in the Swiss state, namely in the city of Trogen in the Pestalozzi children's village. The children's village is a camp in itself, which serves for numerous activities of non-formal education of children through different methods to raise their capacities and develop their integrity in society. In Pestalozzi, children from North Macedonia have the opportunity to socialize with children from different countries of the world, who spend time together strengthening their intercultural knowledge.
Living together with people from different houses is a key experience for the two weeks of Summer Camp. In order to initially fostering mutual understanding and establishing a good spirit in the houses the first workshop day is dedicated to house group.
This year, after a break of 3 years, the Center for Education and Development participated in the Summer Camp in Trogen, which took place for more than three weeks, where 18 children from North Macedonia and 3 of their Supervisors participated. The children of North Macedonia spent their time at the camp accompanied by their peers from Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Serbia, Croatia and Moldova. While they developed various educational, cultural, sports and recreational activities. One of the perfect activities was the live radio show, with frequencies in the town of Trogen where the children had the opportunity to express their impressions. 'For my experience in this summer camp that I just went through, it was extremely amazing. The activities, the various workshops, not avoiding the parties organized in the camp, were the most favorite experiences not only by me but also by others, not excluding the supervisors! The "highlight" of this summer camp for me was the traditional night where all the representative countries were given the chance to bring their traditional clothes as well as their traditional foods. The goal of the summer camp, which is developed by the Pestalozzi Foundation, is: Through comprehensive education, equal and qualitative for children and young people, the Pestalozzi Children's Foundation aims to promote individual development. The newly learned competencies that emerge from this personal growth are indispensable for creating and promoting peaceful coexistence and sustainable development.
“For my experience at this summer, camp that I just went through, it was extremely amazing. Regardless, not overlooking the fact that I started the journey without having a friend or girlfriend with me, I felt like I was at home the moment I arrived at our destination. Activities, different jobs, not avoiding the parties organized in the camp, were the most favorite experiences not only by me but also by others, not excluding the supervisors! The "highlight" of this summer camp for me was the traditional night where all the representative countries were given the chance to bring their traditional clothes as well as their traditional foods. I had the opportunity to try different foods from other countries as well as learn their traditional dances! For the last time I can say it was one of my experiences that I will never forget!”
